Megan L. Stukenholtz, MSN, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC
Megan L. Stukenholtz is a double board-certified and licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Practice Nurse Practitioner in the State of Iowa. She received her Masters in Psychiatric Mental Health and graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Nebraska Omaha. She received her Masters in Family Practice graduating Summa Cum Laude from Graceland University. She earned her Bachelors degree at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines.
Megan specializes in providing mental health assessment, evaluation, medication management, and focused counseling to children, adolescents, and adults.
In 2021 she started her private practice, Bluebird Behavioral Health. Prior to this, in 2017 she launched the first outpatient mental health clinic for Guthrie County Hospital and was the only mental health care provider for Guthrie County and surrounding counties for nearly five years.
She practiced for several years on an inpatient adult and geriatric mental health unit and provided psychiatric assessments and consultations for the emergency room, intensive care unit, and general medical floor. During this time she also provided care to adults participating in an intensive outpatient program by providing assessment, medication management, and care planning.
Megan has also worked for the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, serving as the chief provider for a medical/psychiatric unit where she managed care for veterans with co-occurring complex medical and mental health issues.
She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Iowa Nurse Practitioner Society, and Neuroscience Education Institute.
Megan resides with her husband, daughter, son, and cat. She enjoys spending time with her family, researching and writing for various projects, reading of any kind, and fishing in Canada.
